54Do you know that for as little as $25 anyone can register a whole litter regardless of breed or health with the AKC (American Kennel Club)?
The AKC do not travel to the breeding facility to see if the puppies or dogs qualify for registration.
They even announced it cannot guarantee the quality or health of dogs in its registry.
All they really do is thrive on naive people and make $30 million each year!
$30 million! While countless people falls victim of buying sick puppies from cruel and unsanitary puppy mill.

So if you are looking for a purebred puppies (Are you being superficial or naive ~ breed does not guarantee great personality).
Adopt from breed-specific rescue group.
It's way cheaper.
These people knows their breed so you are sure to be getting the breed you want, you breedist.
And they treat the pets well so you will not be getting abused and sick animals.
And next time you see people advertising that their pets are AKC registered.
Don't be fooled!
It's like used car salesperson boasting that their cars are registered.
Does it guarantee the quality of the car? No.
Does it guarantee the make and model of the car? Not in this case.
Remember EVERYONE can register.
So stay away from breeders.
These guys treat breeding dogs worst than farmers do chicken at chicken farms.
Out of greed and not having to get a real job like the rest of us they continue to breed despite the 4 million puppies and dogs being killed by gas chambers, heart sticks and lethal injections each year in U.S. pounds because of overpopulation.
And naive people continue to buy thinking that the AKC papers are worth more than tissue papers.
STOP SUPPORTING BREEDERS & AKC!

I believe that AKC and all the other animal organization registers keep Puppy Mills and Pet shops in business. When I was naive, I used to believe it meant you had a quality well breed dog. This is not true. They take money from horrible breeders without conscience. They never set foot on their property or see the animals they register. The breeders can falsify anything and never get caught, until till someone that cares sees and gets involved. Don't support Puppy Mills by buying on-line or from Pet Stores.

Wow, interesting article. I've been training dogs for almost 8 years now, and have never heard these things about AKC. I'll have to look into it further. Thank you.
